Notice of Title VI Program and Complaint Procedures

The goal of Reliable Transit is to provide safe and reliable transportation services to individuals utilizing Medicaid, Medicaid Waiver, or private pay. Our service enables Medicaid Waiver recipients to get to and from work worry-free, timely and reliably.

We also provide transport services for traditional Medicaid recipients to and from medical related appointments, not only in the Muncie area but to longer distance destinations such as Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Richmond, and other locations in East Central Indiana.

Service Details
Reliable Transit provides door to door transportation services to destinations including work and medical related appointments in East Central Indiana and longer distances per request and review. Qualified drivers and staff provide safe, dependable and friendly transit services. Our drivers are specifically trained to meet the needs of the individuals through extensive and on-going training. Services can be established as regularly scheduled routine trips or periodic on-demand requests per the individual.

Scheduling Trips
All rides may be secured through a simple phone call to our office at (765) 587-5251. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm. Other hours of service may be available upon request.

Services may be paid through a Medicaid Waiver, traditional Medicaid or by private pay. (The current Medicaid rates will apply for private pay services). Trips must be scheduled through the dispatch office 48 hours in advance. You will receive confirmation immediately. If applicable, please have your Medicaid number available when requesting a trip. Please note that a message left on the voicemail system does not guarantee your trip is scheduled, and Reliable Transit has the right to deny requests due to vehicle availability, Medicaid eligibility, or for requested destinations exceeding available resources.

Accommodations

  • Service animals are permitted. The rider must provide a prescription from a medical professional authorizing the need.
  • Wheelchair accessible transportation is available. The rider must inform the scheduler of the need for wheelchair accessible transportation at the time of scheduling the ride.
  • Portable oxygen tanks are permitted on all vehicles. It will be the responsibility of the rider to ensure these are properly secured.
  • Riders 17 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Mark Yaudas, is the Transportation Coordinator at Hillcroft Services. He has twenty-four years experience in the social services industry providing services for elderly and disabled individuals. Mark was formerly the manager of a rural public transit system which served a seven county service area. Mark served on the INCOST (Indiana Council on Specialized Transportation) Board of Directors for the past eighteen (18) years, and has been a member of CTAA (Community Transportation Association of America) during his transit career. Mark continues to coordinated efforts with INDOT (Indiana Department of Transportation) to continually improve transit in Indiana, as well as writing Section 5310 grants to acquire replacement and expansion vehicles to provide quality transportation services throughout east-central Indiana.

Mark assisted in the development of the Residential Associate program at Hillcroft Services when starting in his new position. The program is to insure an adequate associate staff is maintained to meet the open shift demands in our twenty-four (24) hour settings, and Respite/drop-in clients The Residential Associates work in the program receiving the required training and experience, and after successfully completing the program become eligible to be considered for advancement into a regular full-time or part-time position as a DSP (Direct Support Professional) in our Supported Living program. Mark has a background in grant writing, and has been assigned to the Grant Committee. He is working to pursue grant opportunities to acquire capital items to better assist in delivering quality and efficient services to our clients too insure continued growth for Hillcroft Services.

Mark is passionate in being successful in developing and enhancing programs to exceed expectations in providing services to individuals with disabilities. He assisted in the development of our Reliable Transit service which began operation in 2013, and is currently working with the Madison County Council of Governments in the provision of their TRAM rural public transportation service beginning in January, 2014.To contact Mark directly you may reach him by calling (765) 587-5251 or myaudas@hillcroft.org.
