Ticket to Work Benefits
The Social Security Administration established the Ticket To Work Program to assist millions of Americans with disabilities who receive SSI, SSDI, and/or Medicaid health benefits and who would like to gain greater self sufficiency through employment.
Ticket To Work Program benefits include:
- Free training and support in establishing a plan to obtain employment;
(Individual Work Plan)
- Continued cash benefits for a time while you work;
(9 month trial work period)
- Continued Medicare:
(up to 93 months after the 9th Trial Work Period month)
- Continued Medicaid;
(Indefinitely if you continue to meet the resource and other requirments of SSI)
- Deferral of Medical Continuing Disability Reviews (CDR);
(While making progress in the Ticket to Work Program)
- If you work enough to stop receiving benefits, but must stop working because of the same disability within five years, you will not have to reapply for benefits.
- Become self supporting
