Hillcroft Gives Back
"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single minute before starting to improve the world." - Anne Frank
In celebration of Disability Awareness Month, a group of clients from Hillcroft's' Adult Daily Living and OBRA programs partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana to make a difference in their community. In just two short hours, the clients were able to bag 8,000 pounds of sweet potatoes to be distributed to families in need in East Central Indiana.
While the food that was prepared for distribution will provide families with much need support, the opportunity to volunteer allowed Hillcroft's clients to use their skills and talents to have fun together and give back in their community.
Brenda Williamson, Vice President of Development and Marketing at Hillcroft summed of the experience by saying, "They took great pride in getting the task done and being able to give back to their community. Second Harvest is a wonderful organization and helped make the work a lot of fun. Our clients were excited for the opportunity to volunteer and all agreed they are anxious to do it again!”
