  • 8th Annual Hilcroft Masters Golf Outing

  • 2012 Disability Awareness Month Celebration

    Each March, Indiana celebrates Disability Awareness Month. Led by the Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities, the goal of Disability Awareness Month is to increase awareness and promote independence, integration and inclusion of all people with disabilities.

    Hillcroft Services partnered with Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler to lead Disability Awareness Month celebrations in Muncie through a Mayoral Proclamation and art reception. On March 2, Mayor Tyler welcomed the Muncie community to Mutual Bank as he proclaimed March as Disability Awareness Month. The reception also included the presentation and sale of artwork created by individuals with disabilities through Hillcroft Services’ art programs. Experience Isanogel: Residential Camp Position Descriptions

Current Openings

Isanogel is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions for the 2010 Residential Camp season:

 

Leadership Team Positions

The Cabin Life Specialist is responsible for the overall leadership of cabin life functions.  This includes supervision of cabin heads and cabin counselors.  The Cabin Life Specialist will remain in constant communication with all staff and camper families to ensure that campers' needs are being met.  The Cabin Life Specialist position requires prior experience working with individuals with disabilities.  Prior experience with working in the camp environment, supervising staff and facilitating groups is preferred.

The Program Specialist is responsible for the overall leadership of program functions.  This includes supervision of three Program Instructors and the Aquatics Director.  The Program Specialist is also responsible to generate camp schedules and themes.  The Program Specialist will serve as the leader in coordinating plans for inclement weather and weather emergencies.  The Program Specialist position requires prior experience in leading groups.  Prior experience working with people with disabilities, working in the camp environment, and supervising staff is preferred. 

Cabin Life Positions

The Cabin Head is responsible for leadership and organization of the cabin.  The Cabin Head will serve in the mentoring and leadership capacity for approximately five cabin staff and eighteen campers.  The Cabin Head is responsible for ensuring that all cabin life documentation is completed in an accurate and thorough manner, that the cabin remains clean and orderly, and that all camper needs are being met.  The Cabin Head will remain in constant communication with the Summer Leadership Team to communicate camper progress and needs.  Prior camp experience and experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred for this position. 

The Cabin Counselor is responsible for ensuring that campers have the best experience possible at camp.  The Cabin Counselor will assist in meeting camper needs in both the cabin and in program areas.  The Cabin Counselor will assist campers with physical, social and emotional supports.  The Cabin Counselor will also assist with completing cabin life documentation and maintaining and clean and orderly cabin.

The Day Counselor is responsible for ensuring that campers have the best possible experience at camp.  The Day Counselor serves in the capacity of Cabin Counselor in a non-residential manor.   Day counselors are typically assigned to work in 4-6 hour shifts providing relief for residential Cabin Counselors.

Program Positions

The Program Instructor is responsible for the development and implementation of programs in four program areas.  These program areas include Creative Arts, and Recreation, Nature.  The Program Instructor will also work with other Program Instructors to develop and implement evening programs and all camp activities that will tie in with the current theme.  The Program Instructor will be responsible for developing and implementing rain plans as needed.  The Program Instructor will also assist in Cabin Life Support as needed.

The Aquatics Director is responsible for the overall function of the pool and aquatic programming.  Safety is paramount in the role of the Aquatics Director.  The Aquatics Director will be responsible for scheduling and assisting with supervision of lifeguards.  The Aquatics Director is responsible for working with Program Instructors in developing and implementing evening programs and all camp activities.  The Aquatics Director is also responsible for developing and implementing rain plans as needed.   Current Lifeguard certification is required for this position.  The Aquatics Director must be at least 21 years of age.

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of campers and staff during pool activities.  The Lifeguard will work with the Aquatics Director to maintain a safe pool environment during all aquatics activities.   Current Lifeguard Certification is required for this position. Lifeguards must be at least 16 years of age.

Support Staff Positions

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall functioning of food service at camp.  The Kitchen Manager will generate menus, assist with ordering food, report kitchen maintenance concerns, lead food preparation, lead kitchen/dining hall clean up and ensure all food service standards are being met.  The Kitchen Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all camper and staff specific nutrition needs are being met (i.e. pureed, diabetic diet, etc...).   The Kitchen Manager will also assist with supervision of the Kitchen Assistants. 

The Kitchen/Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and clean-up.  The Kitchen/Housekeeping Assistant is also responsible for assisting with housekeeping tasks throughout property.
